Carbondale, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University men's tennis team (2-5, 0-1 MVC) will try to pick up its first MVC win of the season when Southwest Missouri State University (3-9, 0-1 MVC) and Wichita State University (7-8, 1-0 MVC) visit University Courts in Carbondale.
"It's nice to have these matches at home. We need these matches and its important to pick up wins against teams we are capable of beating. These teams are similar to Evansville and Tenn.-Martin, teams we lost to 4-3. We've been close in a couple matches and haven't been able to pull out wins so the guys are ready to all play well together this weekend," said Missy Jeffrey, Saluki head coach. "We can have a positive MVC record with a couple wins and we've switched our doubles team and won all three doubles matches against UIC, so we're headed in the right direction."
The SMS match will be on Saturday, April 6 at 10 a.m. and the Wichita State match will be played Sunday, April 7 at 9 a.m.
