Softball Gets Rained Out at Southwest Missouri State

Springfield, Mo. - Steady rains caused Southern Illinois' (20-12, 7-4) and Southwest Missouri State's (16-14, 6-5) series finale to be cancelled earlier today at SMS Softball Field.
SIU had a 3-1 lead before the game was officially called in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Today's game, which will not be rescheduled, marks the 12th contest this season the Salukis have lost to inclement weather.
SIU will return to action next weekend when it begins an eight-game homestand starting with a three-game series on April 13-14 versus Indiana State.
