Normal, Ill. - Southern Illinois University tied for 12th with a three-round score of 895 at the D.A. Weibring Classic which ended earlier today. The Salukis improved their final round of 18 holes by nine strokes.

After having stood in 13th place following day one of competition, SIU jumped up a spot thanks to senior Tim Hoss who led the Dawgs for the second consecutive tournament this season. Hoss clubbed back-to-back 75s before finishing strong with a 73 en route to tying for 44th. Dustin Stewart also gained a share of the 44th spot with a 223 (73-77-73).

Southwest Missouri State (859) won the tournament, while Northern Iowa (861), Drake (866), Saint Louis (868) and host Illinois State (873) rounded out the top-five, respectively.

SIU will return to action at the Eastern Kentucky Colonel Classic on Sept. 27-28.
