Women's Cross Country Visits Indiana State

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The women's cross country team will compete at the Indiana State Invitational this weekend in search of its second win of the season. The Salukis will once again sport a squad full of freshmen (8) and two juniors.
The invitational, which is to be held at the L. Gibson Championship Cross Country Course, is set to begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. Schools competing are Air Force Academy, Butler, Dayton (Ohio), Depauw (Ind.), Eastern Illinois, Indiana, IUPUI, Ohio State, Rose-Hulman (Ind.), Saint Louis, St. Joseph's (Ind.), Washington University (Mo.) and the host Indiana State.
The Salukis are currently ranked #15 in the Midwest Region. SIU won the Eastern Illinois Panther Open two weeks ago and jumped into the poll after a bye week last weekend. Leading SIU will be Mt. Vernon freshman Lindsay Wagner who sits atop the Missouri Valley Conference with the best time this season of 17:35.
