McDowell Named Honorable Mention All-MVC

Carbondale, Ill. - Senior guard Molly McDowell was named honorable mention all-Missouri Valley Conference, announced today by the league office.
SIU's leading scorer for the second straight year, McDowell finished her four-year Saluki career scoring double figures in 20 games this season. Registering 22 or more points eight times this year, McDowell led the Dawgs in free throw percentage (.904), assists (103), blocks (23) and steals )54). Also ranking among NCAA women's basketball leaders in free throw percentage, she became the school's all-time career-leader in that category. In addition, she broke the school record in free throws made and finished with 1,271 career points.
McDowell, who earned all-conference recognition for the first time in her career, joined Sara Bailey (Bradley), Carlesa Dixon (Wichita State), Jenni Lingor (SMS) and Laura Spanheimer (Creighton), who also took honorable mention laurels.
