Men's Tennis Falls To SMS 5-2

Springfield, Mo. - Southern Illinois University's men's tennis team suffered a loss to Missouri Valley Conference opponent Southwest Missouri State in a 5-2 decision Sunday in Springfield.
Alon Savidor defeated Nenad Curcic in number two singles action 7-6, 6-3. That win Savidor to a tie for 19th on SIU's all-time career singles wins with 48. Bojan Ilievski took his spring record to 6-3 with his win over Pedja Pavlicic.
Savidor and Julian Botero defeated Pavlicic and Shingi Nyagura in number three doubles (8-4).
The Salukis are 2-3 in MVC play, and post a 5-4 spring record. SIU will be back in action Friday when they begin a three-match swing against MVC opponents. The Dawgs will travel to Bradley Friday, and head to Illinois State Saturday and Indiana State Sunday.
