Morehead, Ky. - Southern Illinois' men's golf team finished sixth out of eight teams competing at the Greg Palmer Eagle Classic which ended earlier today at Eagle Trace Golf Club. The Salukis shot a three-round score of 896.

SIU carded its best score in the first round of the tournament, where it fired a 292. From then on, the Dawgs struggled to scores of 304 and 300, respectively.

Dustin Stewart tied for fifth to register the Salukis' best individual finish on the two-day event. Stewart shot a pair of 71s and a 75 en route to a 217. Tim Hoss also listed among the top-20 placewinners. Hoss tied for 20th with a 224 (72-78-74).

Nearby John A. Logan College (868) won the tournament, while Tennessee Tech (873), Murray State (877), Eastern Kentucky (891) and host Morehead State (894) rounded out the top-five.

SIU closes out its spring season at the MVC Championships on April 28-29.
