Carbondale, Ill. - The men's tennis team will compete against Wichita State and Southwest Missouri State this weekend on the road. This weekend begins a tough five-match road stretch for SIU to finish out the conference season.
The Salukis matchup with Wichita State at 3pm on Saturday in Wichita, Kan., then backtrack to Springfield, Mo. for a battle with SMS at 11am. SIU is 4-3 overall this spring, and has a 1-2 MVC record, but hopes to improve its conference record.
Four of SIU's players have five or more singles wins this season, with freshman Tomas Gonzalez winning seven straight. Senior Alon Savidor, with forty-seven career wins, will look to win both his matches and take sole possession of 19th place on SIU's all-time career singles win list.
Results of this weekend's matches can be found at www.siusalukis.com.
