Gray Leaps Into High Jump Finals At NCAA National Championship

Sacramento, Calif. - Senior Latrice Gray will participate in the 2003 NCAA National Championship high jump finals after qualifying with a jump of 5-10.50 on Thursday. Gray, who is enjoying her second trip to the national meet in three years, is the only Saluki from the five invited to the meet to get past the preliminary rounds.

Gray, who tied for second at the MVC Outdoor championship, set a personal best with her qualifying height. Athletes receive three attempts at each height, but Gray only needed one each, as she cleared each of the three heights attempted on the first try.

Thirteen athletes advanced to the high jump finals set to begin at 7:35 p.m. pacific time on Saturday. Complete results of the national meet can be found at www.ncaasports.com.
