Junior Lukasz Soswa Wins Flight C Championship at Kentucky

LEXINGTON, KY. - Junior Lukasz Soswa defeated Craig Smith of Wright State to claim the Flight C championship, 6-3, 4-6, 6-0, in a three set match Saturday at the Kentucky Invitational.
Sophomore Tomas Gonzalez also played for a championship, but did not come away with a victory as he was defeated by Chase Armstrong of Eastern Kentucky, 6-1, 6-3, in the finals of the Flight B singles. Junior Alexandru Nomicos is set to play for fifth place in the Flight A Two singles as he defeated Brian Butt of Wright State, 7-5, 6-2.
Senior Peter Bong won sixth place of the Flight A One singles as he defeated Jacob Kirts of Bellarmine, 6-2, 6-1.
Singles action will conclude tomorrow at Kentucky Invite. SIU is set to participate in the Louisville Invitational on Oct. 3-5 in Louisville, Ky.
