Women's Cross Country Cracks Midwest Region Poll

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University women's cross country team cracked the Midwest Region poll Monday at #15. The Salukis move into the poll during a week off from competition in anticipation for the Indiana Invitational this weekend.
SIU took the Eastern Illinois Panther Open crown two weeks ago in Charleston, Ill., its first win in more than three years. Freshman Lindsay Wagner led the way with a second place finish overall, garnering her Cross Country Athlete-of-the-Week honors from the Missouri Valley Conference.
SIU Men Still In It: The men's cross country team dropped two spots in the Midwest Region to #13 during a week off. The Salukis, who were ranked #11 after a big second-place finish two weeks ago at the Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa, Ala., behind host Alabama.
The SIU men will host the annual Saluki Invitational on Oct. 11 with hopes of its second win of the season. The Salukis won the Bradley Open during their opening week of competition, SIU's first win in almost one year.
