The Southern Illinois University men's golf team will travel to Murray, Ky., Monday to take on the field at the Murray State Invitational at Miller Golf Course.
Head coach Leroy Newton thinks the Salukis, coming off of a big win at the John Dallio Invitational hosted by DeKalb University, are ready to compete in the 10-team field, including host Murray State, Southeast Missouri State, Tennessee-Martin and Morehead State.
"There is no pressure going into the tournament this week except for the pressure they put on themselves," said Newton. "I don't expect the boys to change their game because of one win. We've forgotten about last week and we're looking ahead."
Kyle Hosick, finishing third overall in the two-day tournament in Chicago, led the team. Other top ten finishes included Roger Welch finishing sixth and Brian Norman in 10th.
The three golfers, along with Sean McNemar and Chad Cooper, will travel to the two-day tournament.
