CARBONDALE, Ill.-- Southern Illinois (3-15, 2-10) looks to snap a three-game losing streak Thursday when it plays at Wichita State (7-15, 4-9). Tip off is set for 7:05 p.m., at Charles Koch Arena.
Recently coming off a 85-63 loss to Illinois State on Feb. 14, SIU enters tomorrow's game led by Dana Pinkston's 10.5 points per game. Also scoring just 60.1 points as a team, the Salukis have allowed their opponents to score an average of 91.5 points in their previous two outings.
WSU occupies the eighth-place slot in the league standings, and has lost three of its last four. The Shockers sport two players averaging double figures in the scoring column. Carlesa Dennis leads the team with 11.9 ppg, while Angela Buckner follows averaging a double-double 10.4 points and 11.7 boards.
Despite holding a 28-17 advantage in its overall series against WSU, SIU has dropped 10 straight games to the Shockers, including a 75-67 loss earlier this year in Carbondale.
Also, SIU has lost seven in a row at Charles Koch Arena (formerly Levitt Arena), and hasn't won there since Jan. 2, 1996 (60-59).
