Men's Tennis Continues Fall Season

CARBONDALE, Ill. - After a solid start to their season the men's tennis team will prepare for their second tournament in two weeks as they head to Lexington, Ky. for a three day invitational tournament on Sept. 24-26.

In their season opener at the Middle Tennessee State Invitational the Salukis were able to notch six wins. Leading the Salukis was junior Tomas Gonzalez. Gonzalez picked up three wins in the tournament, but fell short in the Flight B1 singles championship against Mark Finnegan of Memphis. Along with Gonzalez new comer Rodrigo Lama had a good debut for the Salukis as the sophomore picked up two wins in his first tournament for SIU.

The Salukis will be looking to their three seniors, Julian Botero, Alex Nomicos, and Lukasz Soswa to lead them this weekend as the Dawgs hope to keep improving as the season progresses.
