Hinsdale, IL. - The Salukis got off to a good start as they picked up the doubles point over the Flames, and continued to play well as they took four of six from UIC in singles play,to give SIU the 5-2 win at the Hinsdale Racquet Club late Saturday.
Sophomore Rodrigo Lama led SIU as he defeated Karol Zarucki at the No. 2 singles spot (6-4, 6-1) and teamed up with junior Tomas Gonzalez to notch a win at the No. 2 doubles spot.
The Dawgs will be back in action on March 26 as they begin Missouri Valley Conference play, when they travel to Terre Haute to take on the Indiana State Sycamores.
