Anthony Acklin Named MVC Male Track Athlete of the Week

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Sprinter Anthony Acklin was named the Missouri Valley Conference Male Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon, as announced by the league office.

A junior who transferred from Wallace State Community College, Acklin won the 110 meter hurdles as he took the Mt. SAC Relays title in career-best a time of 14.09. The Glassboro, N.J. native improved his NCAA regional qualifying time of 14.29 captured at the Gatorade Classic two weeks ago. The current mark ranks Acklin first in the MVC this season.

This is the first time this season and in Acklin's career that he has received the honor from the Valley. He is the first Saluki from the men's team to be honored this outdoor season.
