EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Southern Illinois' series-opener at Evansville was suspended due to rain. After a storm left the east side of Evansville without power approximately two hours before the 6:05 p.m., initially scheduled first pitch, SIU and UE did not start until 7:05 p.m.
Once the game began, SIU rallied to a 4-2 lead in the top of the second, where rain stopped play at 7:35 p.m. An hour and a half later, the game was suspended.
The Salukis and Aces will pick up where they left off tomorrow at 1 p.m. When the game resumes, SIU will have P.J. Finigan on first, Kevin Koski on third and Nathan Emrick at the plate with no outs.
Both SIU and UE will then play a nine-inning game following the completion of Friday's game.
