The Southern Illinois University athletics department announced a new football season-ticket campaign Thursday called the "Drive for 25."
The goal of the campaign is to increase the number of Saluki football season-ticket holders to the 2,500 mark prior to the 2005 season.
Current season ticket holders are being offered incentives to recruit friends and neighbors to buy season tickets.
Some of the prizes offered include a trip for two to the Northern Iowa football game, a free tailgate party for 20 people at Saluki Row during the season, or the opportunity to be a guest coach at a Saluki home game.
For every new season ticket holder you sign up, you will receive one point. If you sell a family ticket package, you receive three points. When you get someone to purchase season tickets, make sure they use your name as a referral. It has to be done at the time of sale and cannot be done after the fact. It has to be a new season ticket purchase and not a renewal.
The contest runs through August 26. Results will be published on-line at www.siusalukis.com every week listing the top point individuals.
If you have any questions please feel free to call the SIU Ticket Office at 618-453-2000 or Mike Trude at 618-453-5311.
