Koski Named to ABCA/Rawlings Midwest Region Baseball Team

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University leadoff hitter Kevin Koski was named to the 2005 American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings Midwest Region Baseball Team.
Koski took second-team honors as one of seven players from the Missouri Valley Conference selected to the 28-man squad.
A native of Schaumburg, Ill., Koski ended his sophomore campaign on a 35-game hitting streak, currently the second-longest in league history. He also garnered first-team all-conference, MVC scholar-athlete and CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V laurels.
Statistically, he ranked second in the Valley in both batting average (.380) and hits (92). His team-high 92 hits broke the school's all-time single-season record. In addition, he struck out only 13 times in 242 at-bats to finish 11th in the nation among hitters toughest to strikeout.
Koski is playing for the Hyannis Mets in the prestigious Cape Cod League this summer.
