Baseball picked second in 2006 MVC Preseason Poll

CARBONDALE, Ill.-Southern Illinois was picked second in the Missouri Valley Conference's preseason coaches poll, released today.
Wichita State, who accumulated 68 points, including six first-place tallies, was picked this year's favorite. WSU edged SIU by just four points in the balloting.
SIU, who returns 13 seniors in 2006, received one vote as the No. 1 team in the conference, while Indiana State garnered the other two first-place nods.
Senior Tyler Norrick and junior Kevin Koski garnered preseason all-conference honors for the Dawgs.
