CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University will host Central Michigan in its 2006 home-opener this week. The Salukis and Chippewas open a four-game series on Thursday at 2 p.m., CST.
SIU and CMU also play Friday at 2 p.m., Saturday at 1 p.m., and Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Salukis and Chippewas were initially scheduled to play a three-game set, beginning Friday, but since both teams lost a game due to inclement weather last week, the schools decided to add another game to their series.
Senior left-hander Tyler Norrick (1-0) will take the mound for SIU's home debut Thursday.
