Baseball heads to Murray State Wednesday

CARBONDALE, Ill.-Red-hot Southern Illinois University (8-1) looks to win its eighth-straight game when it heads to Murray State (0-4) Wednesday. First pitch is at 2 p.m., CST.
SIU is 34-11 all-time against MSU and squares off against a struggling Thoroughbred club which is hitting only .136. The 'Breds have also been shutout in three of their four games, including the last two.
Meanwhile, SIU is rolling behind the hot stick of Kevin Koski. Koski, this week's Missouri Valley Conference Player-of-the-Week, is hitting .524 with a team-high 16 runs, 22 hits, four doubles and 11 RBI as the Dawgs' dangerous leadoff hitter.
Koski, who was also named to this week's College Baseball Foundation National Honor Roll, has hit a scorching .588 over his last seven games alone.
SIU has won its last three of four games against MSU.
Freshman left-hander Charlie Weber (Murphysboro, Ill.) will take the mound for his first start of the season Wednesday against MSU.
