CARBONDALE, Ill.-Southern Illinois University (13-9) hosts Murray State (7-12) in its final tune-up before Missouri Valley Conference play Wednesday at 2 p.m., CST.
Senior Tyler Norrick will make his first start since Feb. 23. Norrick, who was out due to inflammation in his rotator cuff, returned to the mound against Notre Dame last Saturday, where he worked one inning in relief.
Wednesday marks the second time the Salukis and Thoroughbreds meet this season. SIU nearly blew a seven-run lead in a dramatic 8-7 win at MSU on Mar. 1.
MSU comes to Carbondale winners in six of its last nine games, while SIU looks to end a season-long four-game losing streak before travelling to MVC preseason-favorite No. 11 Wichita State this weekend.
The Salukis are 35-11 all-time against MSU.
Wednesday's game will be broadcast live on the internet at www.siusalukis.com and www.widb.net. Live stats can also be accessed on-line at www.siusalukis.com.
