Chris Lowery, Men's Basketball
"I think the committee did a great job. Not making it public let the committee do a very thorough search. I think we got an AD that wants to be here. That's the most important thing. It's a very good job to be involved with Southern Illinois University. Not just in athletics, but with the university. We're excited to move forward."
Jerry Kill, Football
"I think for any athletic director to come here, it's a great opportunity. He will get to work with a bunch of great people from administration to coaches. He's got a tremendous pedigree, I can tell you that. He's worked with several people in the coaching profession that I know of. All the things that I've heard about him are great. It's a great time for our university and also a critical time. He has all the qualities to get done what needs to get done here."
Dana Eikenberg, Women's Basketball
"I've known Mario for a couple of years through my connections with Cindy Stein at the University of Missouri. I've had the chance to sit down with him and talk about various subjects. The guy is well-rounded, fun-loving and has a great spirit and what I would call a zest for life. I think that he will truly embrace what is going on here and follow in Paul's steps and take it to another level. We're ready for him."
Diane Daugherty, Women's Golf
"They really kept this very tight. You just have to trust that we are in a great place in athletics and we had good candidates. I'm a graduate of the University of Missouri so I feel like we have ties already. I'm anxious to meet him. Already, he's a great speaker. I'm ready to get going!"
