Lockwood named Gateway Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University sophomore Aaron Lockwood was named the Gateway Football Conference's Offensive Lineman of the Week following the first week of the 2006 season.
Lockwood, who hails from Topeka, Kan., made his first collegiate start in SIU's 49-0 shutout against Division II Lock Haven on Aug. 31. He had three bonus blocks and was graded at a 96 percent efficiency and 99 percent effort from his left guard spot on the Saluki offensive line.
Lockwood takes the weekly honor for the first time in his SIU career.
