CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University placed top-five finishers in eight events to wrap up the Saluki Booster at the SIU Rec Center earlier today.
Brittany Riley, Brenton Siemons and Antwon Stapleton each took second in their respective events to lead the Dawgs.
Riley established a new indoor season and personal best 49-08.50 in the women's shot put and Siemons posted a 55-11.75 mark in the same event for the men.
Meanwhile, Stapleton turned in a 48-06.00 in the men's triple jump.
In sprints, Andrea Norris placed fourth in both the 60-meter (7.72) and 200-meter dash (25.44).
SIU's distance runners also had a strong day.
Kyle Monroe and Mohamad Mohamed each finished third and fourth in the men's mile, respectively. Monroe ran a season-best time of 4:18.46, followed by Mohamad, who crossed the finish line 10 seconds later to set a personal best at 4:18.56.
Katie Birn ran the mile in both a season and personal best 5:09.56 en route to a fourth-place finish on the women's side.
SIU's women's 4x400 relay team of Marquita Vines, Leslie Murillo, Norris and Kendra Deck polished off the day with a fourth-place time of 4:01.25.
The Salukis head to the Gladstein Invitational in Bloomington, Ind., Jan. 26-27.
