Tanaeya Worden named MVC Newcomer of the Week

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Southern Illinois women's basketball player Tanaeya Worden was named the Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week the league announced Monday.

Worden, a freshman from Sioux City, Iowa, came off the bench for the Salukis in their opener against #25 DePaul to record 17 points, two steals and a rebound, despite playing with a cast on her arm. The newcomer shot 43 percent from the field in her first regular season showing, and 44 percent from three-point range. She averaged more than a point a minute in her regular season Saluki debut.
