Football lands one on Gateway's All-Newcomer Team

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University junior running back Larry Warner was named to the 2007 Gateway Football Conference All-Newcomer team, the league announced today.
Warner, who joined SIU from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, is currently second on the team in rushing. A native of Vicksburg, Miss., Warner has rushed for 461 yards and four touchdowns on 83 carries through 12 games. He averages 5.6 yards per carry.
Youngstown State wide receiver Ferlando Williams was named Newcomer of the Year, while Missouri State quarterback Cody Kirby earned the league's nine-year-old Freshman of the Year honor.
