Saluki Athletic Scholarship Fund deadline approaching

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The deadline for Saluki football and basketball fans to make a donation to the Saluki Athletic Scholarship Fund (SASF) is fast approaching. In order to receive parking and seating privileges for the 2007-08 seasons, SASF donations must be in place by noon on Friday, June 29.
All gifts to the SASF go directly to offset scholarship costs for the 300+ student-athletes who attend Southern Illinois University. Gifts have been arriving at a record pace, according to Director of Athletics Mario Moccia.
"If we finish strong during the month of June, we could see the largest increase in the five-year history of the fund," Moccia said. "Many supporters have increased their gift or moved up a donation level. The scholarship fund is a key part of our strategic plan, and we are both excited and grateful for the generous support."
