Kelly named first-team American Baseball Coaches Association All-Region

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University sophomore catcher Mark Kelly was named first-team American Baseball Coaches Association all-Midwest Region earlier today.
Kelly, also a first-team all-Missouri Valley Conference and MVC Scholar-Athlete pick, is now eligible for the ABCA All-America Team voting which will take place in Omaha at the NCAA College World Series on June 14-15.
A native of Hanover Park, Ill., Kelly guided the Salukis to a an overall 34-22 record and 13-11 mark in league play. He ranked first in the Valley in RBI (63) and second in batting average (.379).
