CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University head coach Dale Lennon announced Monday that wide receiver Bryce Morris and inside linebacker Justin Thurston have been suspended the next two games for violation of team rules.
Morris and Thurston have played in all five games for the Salukis this season. A native of Olathe, Kan., Morris is the team's second-leading receiver with 13 catches for 135 yards and two touchdowns, while Thurston, a fifth-year senior out of Pompano Beach, Fla., has 11 tackles.
The No. 15/16-ranked Salukis (3-2, 2-1 MVFC) visit Youngstown State (2-5, 1-2 MVFC) for a Missouri Valley Football Conference tilt Saturday. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m., ET, at Stambaugh Stadium.
