CARBONDALE, Ill. - Head coach Dale Lennon announced Tuesday that quarterback Paul McIntosh has transferred to Southern Illinois University from Army.
McIntosh (6-2, 195), who also received offers from Ball State and Air Force, graduated from Evansville Reitz High School last year. He was Indiana's Mr. Football and Gatorade Player of the Year in 2007.
McIntosh threw for 2,600 yards and 23 touchdowns, while throwing only five interceptions. He also rushed for 1,600 yards and 33 TDs as a four-year varsity starter, three of which were at quarterback. McIntosh was an all-state and all-conference selection for the Panthers, as well.
McIntosh is currently enrolled in classes at SIU and will play next season.
"We're excited Paul is joining us," said Lennon. "He received a lot of big time attention last year and he's definitely a guy who can contribute down the road."
