Senior Day
SIU will honor its seniors prior to kickoff Saturday. Thirteen seniors, including Derrick Belton, James Cloud, Mike Farrell, Kevin Green, Jon Habbe, Deji Karim, Aaron Lockwood, Damian Sherman, Blake Sims, Justin Thurston, Kyle Walker, Larry Warner and Kendrick Young will suit up for their last guaranteed home game at McAndrew Stadium.
League Race Tightens
Three league teams, including Northern Iowa (6-1), SIU (5-1) and South Dakota State (5-1) enter the weekend with one league loss and are all in the running for either a shared or outright crown. UNI wraps up its conference schedule at Indiana State. A victory over the Sycamores will secure at least a share of the Valley Football crown for the Panthers.
Home Cookin'
The Salukis are a red-hot 15-1 in their last 16 games at McAndrew Stadium. SIU is 34-4 in Carbondale since the start of the 2003 season. The Dawgs (5-0) and Northern Iowa (6-0) are the only league teams with undefeated home records.
