He also recorded a 36-hole total of 155 (77,78) to take 16th individually at the state tournament.
"Jake had a great high school career with many accomplishments," said Newton. "He'll fit in well with the team, and be a very good player for us next year."
In his four-year career, Erickson qualified for the Illinois State tournament, and was selected Central State Eight All-Conference three times.
He also helped SHG advance to the 2006 state tournament for the first time since 1979, and amass a four-year record of 82-12 while he was as a member of the team.
In summer play he won the ISU Junior Open with a 70 at the Weibring golf course, and took first at the State journal-Register Drysdale match play championship in 2007.
He also fired a 74 to win the Taylorville Nike Tour Event in 2008.
Next season, Erickson will join junior Jordan Cox, as the second Saluki golfer on the roster from Springfield, Ill. Cox played at Southeast High School and one season at Springfield College.
