Join the Salukis for Selection Sunday at Copper Dragon

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University Athletics will host a gathering for the 2008 NCAA Division I Football Championship Selection Show on Sunday at Copper Dragon. Doors open at 5 p.m.

The Selection Show will air live at 6 p.m., CT, on ESPNU. Eight automatic berths, plus eight at-large teams, will be revealed. The playoffs begin with eight first-round games on Saturday, Nov. 29.

SIU won a share of the Missouri Valley Football Conference title and clinched the league's automatic postseason berth when it beat Illinois State Saturday. The Salukis currently own the nation's second-longest Football Championship Subdivision playoff streak with six-straight appearances. The MVFC has had at least two teams qualify for the postseason every year since 1994.

Copper Dragon is located on Grand Avenue behind Pinch Penny Pub in Carbondale.
