Track and Field wraps up action at Iowa State Classic

AMES, Iowa - The Southern Illinois track and field teams completed competition at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa today.
Mikeya Nicholson finished in a tie for 15th place in triple jump action with a mark of 38-06.75 (11.75m).
On the men's side, Geoffrey Daniel finished ninth in triple jump with a mark of 46-08.25 (14.23m).
Brittany Riley posted a 16th-place finish in the shot put event with a mark of 47-10.00 (14.58m). For the men, Brenton Siemons posted a 15th-place finish with a throw of 55-02.75 (16.83m) and Thomas Smith placed 20th with a mark of 53-03.50 (16.23m) in the event.
Megan Hoelscher and Emily Toennies took first and third place in the 3,000-meter run, respectively. Hoelscher won the event with a time of 10:12.83, while Toennies' 10:14.85 was good enough for third. On the men's side, Daniel Dunbar placed 15th in the event with a time of 8:57.19.
Jamie Pfister ran a 5:13.96 in the women's 1-mile run to place second overall. On the men's side, Jason Brosseau placed 12th in the event with a time of 4:20.34 and Greg McBride finished 13th with a time of 4:20.43.
A'Seret Dokubo finished in 19th place in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:57.80. Jeff Schirmer took 12th in the event for the men with a time of 8:22.62.
The Salukis will be back in action Friday, Feb. 22 at the Friday Night Special in Charleston, Ill.
