Stuart finishes seventh day two of NCAA Championships

DES MOINES, Iowa - Southern Illinois track and field athlete Bianca Stuart jumped 21-02.75 (6.47m) in the finals of the women's long jump for seventh place Thursday afternoon at the NCAA Outdoor National Track and Field Championships at Drake Stadium.
Stuart fouled her first two jumps in finals then went on to record marks on her final four attempts, recording her best mark of the day on her fifth attempt. The junior scored the first two points for the Salukis at the meet in her first trip to the outdoor championships.
Teammate Brittany Riley has a chance to add to the point total Friday when she competes in the finals of the women's hammer throw at 3:15 p.m.
Earlier in the afternoon Saluki thrower Brenton Siemons competed in the men's shot put. He threw 57-04.75 (17.49m) to finish 21st in the prelims. The top 12 marks advance to finals.
