CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois softball team ranked fourth among the National Fastpitch Coaches Association's All-Academic teams for the 2008 season.
SIU held a 3.447 team GPA to place in the top 10 for the seventh time in the last eight years, and top five for the second consecutive season.
The rest of the top five included Tennessee Tech (3.540), Gardner-Webb (3.478), Seton Hall (3.450), and DePaul (3.429).
