Pre-game Notes

Southern Illinois won the toss, deferred to the second half. MSU to defend the North goal.
The Salukis honored the 24 seniors before kickoff.
First Quarter
Senior right tackle Shawn Smith made his 48th-consecutive start and senior linebacker Brandin Jordan made his 44th career start.
Chris Douglas scored on a 65-yard touchdown run on MSU's fourth play of the game, which marked just the second time all year that the opposition scored on the games opening drive against the Salukis.
On a third-and-nine on SIU's third offensive play of the game, McIntosh hit Joe Allaria for a 56-yard gain to move the ball down to the Missouri State 18-yard line. It was McIntosh's second career pass of over 50 yards and Allaria's third 50-plus yard reception on the year.
Tony Colletti recovered his second fumble of the season at the SIU 17-yard line at 6:55.
James Connor forced a fumble on a punt return that Steven Morse recovered. It was the second fumble recovery on a punt return by Morse this season.
Karim's second rushing touchdown at 2:41 was the 21st of his career, which ties Andre Herrera for the seventh most in school history.
Brandon Williams intercepted a Cody Kirby pass at 1:16 and he returned it 34-yards for a touchdown. It was Williams' third career interception return for a touchdown and it extended SIU's streak to 11-straight games with at least one interception.
Second Quarter
On a fourth-and-three at the MSU 27-yard line, McIntosh scrambled out of the pocket and hit Marc Cheatham for his first touchdown pass of the game. It was Cheatham's fifth career touchdown reception and three of them have come against Missouri State. Karim scored on a 73-yard run at 10:32. It was his fourth TD run of over 60 yards this season. This was Karim's second game of the year with three rushing touchdowns.
Brandin Jordan intercepted his first pass of the season (third of career) at 4:43, giving the Saluki defense its 20th interception of the season.
Third Quarter
Mike McElroy intercepted his sixth pass of the season and returned it 80-yards for a touchdown, which is the fourth longest interception return for a touchdown in school history.
Kyle Russo recorded his second sack of the game at 0:22.
Fourth Quarter
Steve Strother returned a kick 46 yards to the MSU 46-yard line at 5:56.
