Southern Illinois won the toss, deferred to the second half. SDSU to defend the South goal.
The was the first meeting in MVFC history between two league teams with 6-0 conference records.
First Quarter
Senior right tackle Shawn Smith made his 47th-consecutive start and senior linebacker Brandin Jordan made his 43th career start.
Jordan recorded his 10th career sack on the first third down of the game.
Kyle Dougherty hit a season-long 49-yard field goal at 11:02 to start out the scoring Saturday.
Kyle Walker recorded his sixth and a half sack on the year on a second-and-10 and then he shared a sack with Jason Seaman on the next play to give SIU three sacks in the first seven minutes of the game.
Joe Allaria scored a 21-yard rushing touchdown after McIntosh threw a lateral out to him at 4:13. It was Allaria's second career rushing touchdown.
Southern Illinois held the Jackrabbits scoreless in the first quarter, which was the third consecutive game they did not allow any points in the first 15 minutes.
Second Quarter
Deji Karim had rushes for 27 and 41-yards in the second quarter, which were his 16th and 17th rushes of over 20 yards this season.
John Goode caught his third touchdown pass of the season at 6:39 and it was McIntosh's second-career TD pass.
Kyle Russo recorded his second and a half sack of the season with 2:12 left in the half.
Lance Caldwell intercepted his third pass of the season and returned it 75-yards for a touchdown. It was the fifth longest interception return for a touchdown in school history and it extended SIU's streak to 10-straight games with at least one pick.
SIU had five sacks in the first half - its season-high coming into the game was four, which they recorded in four different games.
