Pre-game Notes

William & Mary won the toss, deferred to the second half. SIU to defend the North goal.
First Quarter
Senior right tackle Shawn Smith made his 51th-consecutive start and senior linebacker Brandin Jordan made his 47th career start.
Paul McIntosh rushed for 34 yards on the first play from scrimmage, the longest of his career.
Kyle Dougherty gave SIU the 3-0 lead at 12:58 with a 46-yard field goal. It was his 19th of the season, which is the most in year in Saluki history.
Ryan Patton sacked R.J. Archer for a loss of six yards on W&M's first third down of the game. It was Patton's second and a half sack on the year.
William & Mary came into the game only allowing 50.3 yards rushing per game, but SIU was able to gain 73 yards on the ground in the first quarter.
Second Quarter
Chauncey Mixon recorded a two-yard tackle for a loss around the 10-minute mark. It was his 41.5 career tackle for a loss and moved him into second place for the most in school history.
Southern Illinois had negative two yards of total offense in the second quarter.
Third Quarter
Mike McElroy intercepted his seventh pass of the season on the first Tribe drive of the second half. It was the first turnover in the game.
