AMES, Iowa - Southern Illinois University concluded the Iowa State Classic with six top-five finishes Saturday at Lied Recreation-Athletic Center.
Nefeteri Williams and Cody Doerflein were SIU's only event-winners on the day. Williams ran a 57.73 to win the 400m dash, while Doerflein took the pole vault with a 16-00.75 (4.90m) mark.
Geoffrey Daniel (4th in triple jump - 47-10.00, 14.58m), Meredith Hayes (2nd in 60m hurdles - 8.42), Jeff Schirmer (5th in 5000m - 14:11.60) and Kandise Thompson (4th in 400m dash - 55.08) were the Salukis' other top-five performers.
SIU returns to action at the Eastern Illinois University Friday Night Special on Feb. 20.
