Men's tennis sweeps Murray State, 7-0

Carbondale, Ill.- The SIU men's tennis team swept Murray State 7-0 for their first regular season victory Saturday at SportsBlast.
Lucas Waked recorded victories in both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles to lead the Salukis while partner Anton Leonenko earned the victory in No. 1 doubles and No. 5 singles.
"We did what we had to and we took care of business," Head coach Dann Nelson said. "Murray State was a lot tougher than we expected but our guys stepped it up and it will really helps us next week when we play Indiana."
The Salukis stepped out with the early 1-0 lead as they swept play in the doubles and then saw some tough opponents as the singles matches progressed.
Lucas Waked used a tie breaker to defeat the Racer's Ben Clos 6-4, 7-6 (6) in No. 1 singles while Felipe Villasenor defeated Luka Milicevic in No. 2 singles 6-4, 6-2.
The Salukis (1-0) will return to action on March 1 when they travel to Bloomington, Ind. to face Indiana beginning at 10:30 a.m. CT.
