LEXINGTON, Ky. - Southern Illinois University had nine top-five performers at the Rod McCravy Invitational Friday.
The Salukis again dominated the women's weight throw, with Jeneva McCall (61-09.00, 18.82m - NCAA Provisional qualifier), Gwen Berry (59-11.00, 18.26m) and Rickael Roach (59-09.50, 18.22m) taking second, third and fourth, respectively.
Miracle Thompson (12-01.50, 3.70m) and Malaikah Love (39-04.00, 11.99m) also finished strong for the SIU women. Thompson was fifth in the pole vault, while Love placed third in the triple jump.
On the men's side, Geoffrey Daniel (47-03.75, 14.42m) and Maxim Bakana (47-02.25, 14.38m) were third and fourth in the triple jump.
Joe Paradiso (61-02.00, 18.64m) was fourth in the weight throw and Kendrick Branch (6-04.25, 1.94m) was fifth in the high jump, as well.
SIU resumes action at the Rod McCravy Invitational Saturday.
