Track and Field wraps up competition at Rod McCravy Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky.-The Southern Illinois University track and field team wrapped up competition at the Rod McCravy Invitational Saturday.
Bianca Stuart tied a meet record when she finished second in the long jump with a 20-08.50 (6.31m) mark. Stuart's finish was the Salukis' best on the day.
SIU had four other top-five performers, including Cody Doerflein, Trenton McKinney, Meredith Hayes and Jeff Schirmer.
Doerflein (15-01.00, 4.60m) was fifth in the pole vault, McKinney (23-01.75, 7.05m) placed fourth in the long jump, Hayes (8.50) took fourth in the 60m hurdles and Schirmer (8:12.53) was fifth in the 3000m run.
The Saluki men's 4x400 relay team also finished third with a time of 3:16.42.
In all, SIU had 15 individuals place among the top-10 on the day.
SIU returns to action at the Iowa State Classic on Feb. 15-16.
