No. 19 Softball doubleheader at Evansville rescheduled

CARBONDALE, Ill.-The 19th-ranked Saluki softball team's doubleheader at Evansville on Wednesday has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 24 due to cold wind chills that were expected to hover right around the MVC's minimum standard of 35 degrees.
The league's Minimum Temperature Standard states that conference games shall not be played, except by mutual consent of the coaches, when the game-time wind chill factor is below 35 degrees as posted by the National Weather Service.
As a result, the Salukis will wait to open the MVC season against Drake at home this weekend.
The three-game series at Charlotte West Stadium will begin on Saturday, March 14 with a doubleheader at noon and 2 p.m., followed by a single-game on Sunday, March 15 at 12 p.m.
