CARBONDALE, Ill. - Construction on the Saluki Way project on the campus of Southern Illinois University is moving at a brisk pace, and now fans and supporters can watch the activity in real-time through a pair of live webcams focused on the site.
The official athletics website (www.SIUSalukis.com) has a link to the webcams, which the viewer can manipulate by panning left or right, or zooming in and out.
Saluki Way, which officially broke ground on March 3, features a retrofitted SIU Arena, a new football stadium and a 56,000-square-foot Athletics Support Facility to be completed for the 2010-11 seasons.
The current phase of construction involves preparation of the construction site, including the installation of a drainage system.
