Cookeville, Tenn.- The Southern Illinois men's tennis team dropped their first match in 19 days with a loss to Tennessee Tech 4-3 on Wednesday.
The Salukis couldn't bounce back after dropping the doubles point and a tough match at No. 6 singles didn't swing the Salukis way.
Head coach Dann Nelson said while the team battled hard, injuries and a few set backs hurt the Salukis from winning the match
"We need to work on closing out sets that we are winning," Nelson said. "If we could have done that today the outcome would have been different."
The Salukis will return for a weekend home matches against Creighton on Saturday and Drake on Sunday.
