Normal, Ill.-The Southern Illinois men's tennis team began its final weekend of regular season play with a victory over Illinois State, 6-1.
The Salukis got big wins from Felipe Villasenor, who won at both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles while also winning No. 2 through No. 5 singles.
"This was a big win for us today. The match was a lot closer than the score and our guys battled hard and held them off in the end," Head coach Dann Nelson said.
Up next for the Salukis (14-6, 4-1 MVC) will be a trip to Peoria to face Bradley tomorrow beginning at 10 a.m.
