Women's Basketball Coach Dana Eikenberg Resigns

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University Director of Athletics Mario Moccia announced that after five seasons at the helm of the Saluki women's basketball program, head coach Dana Eikenberg has resigned from coaching duties effective April 9.
Eikenberg, a native of Clinton , Ill. , took over the program prior to the 2004-05 season. In five seasons as the Saluki head coach, she compiled a record of 53-92 overall, including a Missouri Valley Conference record of 33-46. In 2007, the Salukis won the MVC regular-season championship, and Eikenberg was named the league's coach-of-the-year. In each of the last two seasons, the team was ranked in the top-25 for team grade point average among Division I programs.
The search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
